Value labels

Hello,

Any idea how to transport already defined value labels into a new file without having to re-enter the labels?

Take a look at APPLY DICTIONARY.  It allows you to copy over selected variable properties.

You could also save the original syntax with PASTE if you used the GUI.  Personally I’d always use syntax direct and avoid GUI for this.  If the variables in the new file are called the same, are in the same order and have the same values, you could even copy/paste the Values column from one file to the other.

 

Otherwise, in the GUI, have a look at:

 

Data > Define Variable Properties

 

Most useful facility I’ve ever found as it gives counts as well.
