Warning # 4684 (interrupted file read)

We have a syntax file that has worked for several years, yet recent runs are giving the warning noted in the subject line or a DATA1205 error. These errors occur at various locations in the syntax (as we have rerun it multiple times).

As an FYI, the syntax calls several files, copies them to a new dataset name and conducts manipulations to check if the variables or values have changed in a new extract then add the new extract files together, match these records to the prior Master file, look for and handle duplicates and save a new Master file.

The largest file is just under 150Mb.
We are running the syntax from home over a dedicated VPN (that did not have a problem in the past several quarters).

I recall being able to look up Error and Warning numbers in SPSS.com before to find possible solutions, but have not been successful this time.

Any idea why we are getting these errors/warnings?
Is this a VPN issue or something can be 'fixed' in SPSS?

As noted there by Curtis Browning, 'Error 1205 means "Incomplete or corrupt system file".'
