I’m running SPSS 19 on 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise – I have a modestly high-end machine, but SPSS 19 runs fine. We also have several Win7 32-bit machines in our shop, and have had no trouble with SPSS 19.

Hi

Version 18 works well on Win 7/64.
Version 19 should certainly work too.

All the best

Hi,

I have Win 7 on a 64 bit Dell and use SPSS v19. I have some problems with slow response when typing syntax. I saw something about resetting hardware acceleration to address that problem but I have not gone through those steps yet.

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) with V18 (64 bit) on a quad core with 8gb ram at the office and so far no problems

I run XP and V18 on home machine and find it a bit slow if I have a few other windows open

has MS Office went 64 bit yet? Otherwise I believe this has issues with ODBC?

But I am not sure if actually utilising supposed improvements of 64 bit environment - suspect more to do with amount of ram and bus speed

Re: Windows 7 and SPSS

Barnett, Adrian (DECD)

Office 10 comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and you have the choice of which to install.

I tried out the free trial version of Office 10 in 64 bit under Win 7 64-bit at home, and ODBC from SPSS 18 to Access worked fine.

Taking that Access database to work , it opened and read fine in 32 bit Access 2003 under Windows XP (32-bit).

Not sure what Office 2007 offers in ‘bitness’
