Hi All
I'm benchmarking SPSS 16 on a 64 bit 2.4Ghz Intel 2-Quad. There seems
to be a problem with add value labels for spss 16 (demo) and spss 15.
When I run the attached code, I get multiple labels with values like
(this will split terribly, but it's a large negative number with more
zeros of precision than I'd expect):
-179769313486231570000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
= "Not asked"
The 9 codes vary in the last 2 non-zero digits (ie 57 becomes 55, 53,
51, 50, 47...). Looks like a buffer overflow?
On the same machine, SPSS 15, add value labels runs okay for the
first variable but the remainder have asterisks for value labels of
'Not asked', 'Not applicable' etc.
If you have SPSS 16 on a 32-bit or 64-bit, could you test the program
and let me know (off-list, I'll summarise if there's any interest)
how many bits and if SPSS 16 produces the expected value labels codes
of -1 to -9?
thanks
Simon
