I just want to change the column width in the data editor to see the variable names in full length (more than 8 digits)

with formats(f8.2) into formats(f12.2) -for example- I still get a line brake.

Don't find the syntax command.

Frank, it would be beneficial to other list members if you added how the problem was solved. In this case, I assume it was via the VARIABLE WIDTH command. ;-) Here's the help file example:

VARIABLE WIDTH sales95 sales96 (10) / id gender (2).
