changing versions

Muir Houston-2
Hi listers,
my licence for V15 has expired and when I contacted our support desk they asked if I wanted to upgrade to V17

I know there were issues with V16 - anything to be aware of if I upgrade to V17?

any advice?

thanks
Muir

Re: changing versions

Chris Hunt

V17 was not the best IMO but V18, if you can get it, is much better.

So from responses and from archives V17 is ok as long as you use the patches

thanks

Re: changing versions

Albert-Jan Roskam
I use both v15 and 17.03, and I find the latter version a bit slow in terms of response time. Normal things take a fraction of a second longer, which can be annoying. It's like a pen that writes most of the time, but a fraction of the time it doesn't. Then again, you can use R and more Python functionality in v17.

Cheers!!
Albert-Jan

All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
