Unless I'm missing something, you just have the SPSS file open in SPSS and go to File . . . Save as . . . Excel(various version)- if you want the value labels instead of the values exported make sure to check that off.

Has anyone had success converting SPSS data to Excel? Please let me know if there are any tips! I'm lost! If you're working with syntax, you would use SAVE TRANSLATE. I believe for excel, the basic syntax is: SAVE TRANSLATE /OUTFILE = 'FILE.XLS' /TYPE = XLS /FIELDNAMES . *This adds the variable names to the top row of your spreadsheet. It isn't required but is very useful, especially for larger data sets. There are other things you can add to this syntax, such as dropping or renaming variables, or giving a name to the worksheet your data will appear on (I believe that if you don't specify, it just makes the name your SPSS file name). If you look up SAVE TRANSLATE in the Command Syntax Reference, you can get more information on this command. Sara Sara M.
