coorelation ofparametre estimates in generlized linear mixed model

Luckyluke
Dear SPSS users,

I am just doing some random and fixed effect analysis using version 22 and generalized linear mixed model (a binary model)

however, it seems SPSS doesn't show the correlation estimates for fixed random effect, I need these information for my analysis.
Why such option is not shown there while it available for linear mixed model?

Thanks fir any clues

"correlation estimates for fixed random effect "? Can we assume you have two or more random effects and you mean the correlations (really, covariances) between random effects?

Could you be seeing output from the "Model Viewer" rather than standard output? If so, you can change the output format by going into Edit-> Options -> Output and look for "output display" and change the setting from model viewer to pivot tables and charts. I remember there was irritation about this several years ago and Jon said that both GenLin and GenLinMixed were imported from another spss product that used the model viewer concept as the default.

Hi,

I just changed that but again, there is no information regarding the correlation estimates of fixed effects  by using generalized mixed models ?

I am not sure why this option is not available for generalized mixed model but it is available for mixed model.

Regards,

Please post your syntax statement. I just ran a sample model with a categorical DV and two within level predictors, one of which was a random effect and a between level predictor. I got a table of fixed coefficients and a random effects table that looks exactly like that from Mixed.

Hi,

My syntx is like below

GENLINMIXED
  /DATA_STRUCTURE SUBJECTS=DRG
  /FIELDS TARGET=!dep TRIALS=NONE OFFSET=NONE
  /TARGET_OPTIONS DISTRIBUTION=MULTINOMIAL LINK=LOGIT
  /FIXED  EFFECTS= Number_Of_Medical_admissions
USE_INTERCEPT=TRUE
 /*RANDOM EFFFECT varies within different models.
  /RANDOM EFFECTS= Number_Of_Medical_admissions
USE_INTERCEPT=FALSE SUBJECTS=DRG COVARIANCE_TYPE=VARIANCE_COMPONENTS
  /BUILD_OPTIONS TARGET_CATEGORY_ORDER=ASCENDING INPUTS_CATEGORY_ORDER=ASCENDING MAX_ITERATIONS=100 CONFIDENCE_LEVEL=95 DF_METHOD=RESIDUAL COVB=MODEL PCONVERGE=0.000001(ABSOLUTE) SCORING=0 SINGULAR=0.000000000001
  /EMMEANS_OPTIONS SCALE=ORIGINAL PADJUST=LSD.

However, it doesnt show any correlation of fixed effects matrix!
