create individual data from freuquency data

Stefan
Hi list,

I´m working on a frequency data set, in which one line represents more than
one case. Now I´d like to duplicate the lines to create an indivudal data
set. For expample a line that represents 20 cases should become 20 lines.
(The stata command would be "expand by"). Does anybody know the spss command
to do so?

Hope you may help me.

Wouldn't the VARSTOCASES command be more direct?

NO!!  Why would that help?
If one actually needs to create replicate cases then LOOP/XSAVE is the solution.
OTOH!!!!!!!  Maybe OP needs to merely *WEIGHT* the file.
It is sometimes useful to have a context for these things.
*OP* -Why- do you need to 'Expand' the data set?
I surmise that WEIGHT is actually what is required!.
