San,
You're absolutely correct: a simple frequency count gives a total of 1,118, which IS the number of cases in the database (Carol: thank you for the earlier suggestion to check record #1,066, which looks unremarkable.) But there's no filter on; what does it mean that SPSS 14 may not 'display' all data?
Thanks in advance,
Jeanne

Jeanne,
SPSS 14 may not 'display' all data. Do a 'discriptive' or 'freq' to see eactly how many records you have in SPSS14.

Hello,
A colleague is encountering a database problem in SPSS 14. A database created in SPSS 11, with 1,118 records, is opening in SPSS 14 with 1,065 records (it looks like it allows up to 1,105 but the last 30 lines are blank). The program hasn't shown any other problems. Does anyone know what might account for this problem and how to deal with it?
Thanks very much in advance,
Jeanne
