dynamic creation of vector variable names - correction

I have a question: is there a way to dynamically keep creating a vector name where the upper bounds of the vector change in relation to some other variable?

A crude example:

            Compute #holdvalue = variable1.

            Vector samplevector = samplevector1 to samplevector & #holdvalue .
