file still in use

mpirritano

Spss’ers,

I asked this a while ago and didn’t get a response. I have SPSS 17.0.3.

Why do I get this error even after I clear the temp directory and the computer has been turned off for some time? I come back and open the file and:

Warning # 67.  Command name: GET FILE

The document is already in use by another user or process.  If you make

changes to the document they may overwrite changes made by others or your

changes may be overwritten by others.

I’m worrying that this is indicating that there is something awry on the back end. So far it hasn’t been an issue, but is this telling me that I’m low on resources, I have 1GB RAM and the file I’m using is about 4.05 GB.

Thanks

Matt

Re: file still in use

I have 17.0.3, so I have the patch referenced in that message. This also happens with point and click open file, not syntax, though it happens in syntax as well. It happens when I run python programs too.
