Does anyone know how can I go directly to a variable in SPSS 15.
In the earlier versions this can be done from the menu Utilities Variables and just type the name (or first 2-3 characters) of the variable. In SPSS 15 this way is not working. Thank you! Mircea |

Mircea,
All you need to do is to highlight the variable name on the list and then click Go To. This works in the Data View as well as in the Variable View. Anyway, when you open the variable list in any window such as
syntax or data editor, I seem to have found that there is now no way of rapidly jumping to the variable by starting typing its name, as it happened in some earlier version. Of course you can navigate in an alphabetical list of variables, but this can be somewhat irksome in datasets containing large numbers of variables. Am I mistaken? Hi Hector,
I just checked it in v15: Indeed, that handy feature of being able to quickly jump to the right variable seems to have disappeared!
