how to analyze logistic regression with SPSS v.14 without add-on module?

OZGU GILL
Hi to all again,

I have a nominal Dependent Variable Yes, No, Not Sure and some 2 of my IV are continous and 3 are dichotomous. I have v.14 basic and trying analyze this DV. Is there a syntax downlad somewhere or some other practical solution in Basic SPSS?

  Thanks in advance.

You can use a MACRO called MLOGIT:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~jhckx/spss/mlogist/

If you can simplify your 3 categories (Yes, No, Not sure) to only 2,
you can export your database to a text file, and use LOGISTIC.exe,
from WinPepi freeware package:

"It is unwise to use a statistical procedure whose use one does
not understand. SPSS syntax guide cannot supply this knowledge, and it
is certainly no substitute for the basic understanding of statistics
and statistical thinking that is essential for the wise choice of
methods and the correct interpretation of their results".
