interupted time series

Dominic Lusinchi

Dear SPSS users,

Does anybody on the list know of a reference to conduct interrupted time series analysis in SPSS? I am trying to compare data before and after an intervention to determine whether the difference is statistically significant or not. Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance,

Dominic

Re: interrupted time series

The STATS STRUC CHANGE extension command can do fluctuation and Chow tests for time series.  The Chow test tests for a specific change point while the fluctuation tests look for changes at any point.

With Statistics version 22, this command can be installed from the Utilities menu; for older versions, it can be found in the Extension Commands collection which is linked from the Downloads for SPSS Statistics page on the SPSS Community site (www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral).  It requires the R Essentials for Statistics, which is also linked on that page.
