I may be missing something obvious.
Background. I can create a 3D scatterplot. Then I click on the output and open the chart editor. When I click <edit> and check 3D Rotation a box appears that says "3-D Rotation and has 2 edit boxes that are labeled vertical and horizontal. The cursor changes shape,but when I drag it around on the graph it does not does not rotate the image. I can change the two numbers and that rotates the image. I would like to be able to demonstrate dynamically viewing the image from different angles. This is a clip from <help>. How to Rotate a 3-D ChartFrom the menus choose: Edit The cursor changes shape to indicate that you are in 3-D rotation mode. Click the chart and drag to the desired rotation. For more precise positions, you can enter specific values in the 3-D Rotation dialog box. When you have finished rotating the chart, from the menus choose: Edit The cursor changes back to the arrow to indicate that you are no longer in 3-D rotation mode. Let me email you about 6K bytes that has a .sav file and a .sps file. There are 6 variables and 86 cases. Change the file location in the .sps file and run it. I played with Art’s chart and it appears that manual rotation doesn’t work when an aesthetic is mapped to a variable. I’m not sure if this is a undocumented limitation or just a bug. I tried this in 18.02 if anybody in SPSS support is paying attention to this email. You can rotate via the dialog box but that is not an optimal user experience.
