minimization program for randomized trials

parisec
Does anyone know if spss can be programmed to run a minimization program
such as Minim described in Appendix B of this article?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3317766/

I believe the program randomly assigns the first subject and then subsequent
subjects are assigned based on the characteristics of previous subjects so
that balance is achieved among the characteristics of importance.

It would be possible, with some work, to code something like this algorithm for Statistics, but why not just use the free and open source minimPy described in that article?

I am not sure what your question is.
Appendix B is merely a sample interaction with Minim.
Why would that be useful launched from SPSS?
What exactly are you attempting to achieve?

Thanks.

I couldn't figure out how the previous allocations were stored in these
programs so that i could go back into the file and see exactly where each
case was randomized to. I've done a bit more research and tried one out and
now i'm a more confident in how they work.
