missing values

Manoj Soni
Dear listers

Greetings

I am running cross tabs and results is not showing the exact total values.

my example :

Variable Name = A

It has 1200 cases.

1190 cases contains 1.
8 cases contains 2.
2 cases contains .[missing]

in crosstabs , there is total of 1198 cases. why not of 1200 cases.

thanks in advance

Re: missing values

Daciuk, Tim

You do not get 1200 because 2 of your cases are missing.

If you want to see all 1200 cases, with 2 being missing, I would do the following:

RECODE variable_with_missing (SYSMIS=9).

MISSING VALUES variable_with_missing (9).

value labels variable_with_missing 9 'missing'.

CROSSTABS

  /TABLES= variable_with_missing BY something

/missing=include.
