I am new to version 14 and having trouble handling the multiple data
windows. I use syntax, and frequently attempt to overwrite a dataset that is open, causing the names to collide...blah blah blah Is there a command that I can build into syntax that will automatically clear the data window so this doesn't happen? I would also love a keyboard shortcut that will "exe" ? thanks. cindy Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail, including all attachments is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information. Hi Cindy,
Answer to your first question is to use DATASET CLOSE ALL. At the beginning of your syntax. (Or before any GET FILE command within your code if you might start the syntax from that point) Regarding your wish for a keyboard shortcut that will "exe": I modify the toolbar by adding the icon "Run Pending Transforms". Follow these steps: 1. right click on toolbar 2. select customize 3. select Transform in the Categories window 4. locate the ""Run Pending Transforms" icon in the Item window. 5. drag and drop it in the tool bar. 6. click OK Now all you have to do is click on the new icon instead of typing and executing "exe."
