I was told that I soon need to upgrade from SPSS 15.0 to SPSS 16.0, but
that the output is different and I can't use what's in SPSS 15.0.  That
was confusing to me.  I have databases saved in SPSS 15.0, won't SPSS
16.0 still be able to open them?

Dan,

Data files (*.sav) created in SPSS 15, can be used without issue in
versions 16 and 17.
