nominal variable correlation to a categorical variable

Im new to this SPSS program, so please bear with me asking questions.
I have read a few articles regarding this topic, however, I need confirmation if Im doing the right thing or not.

I have this research on going, trying to correlate
Age (nominal) with surgical site infection: yes/no (categorical)
Time to Surgery (Nominal) with surgical site infection: yes/no (categorical)
Intra Op Blood Loss (Nominal) with surgical site infection: yes/no (categorical)
etc etc

using the Cramer's V, Lambda, and Kendall's tau-c confuses me in the interpretation part.


for this example, I know this values are not significant.


but for this computation, im not sure which is which.

Your output shows df=55 for the Chi-square test.  That suggests that you have people's actual ages rather than just a small number of age categories.  In that case, and given your research questions, logistic regression would make more sense.  The UCLA website has some nice pages showing how it works.  E.g.,

But see also Mike Babyak's nice article on over-fitting, and pay attention to what he says about events-per-variables in logistic regression models.
