Hi,
When I run a linear mixed model the following style of output occurs (see sample below). Estimates of Fixed Effects(b) Parameter Estimate Intercept 12.733534 [Sex=0] -.592242 [Sex=1] 0(a) How can I change the model specifications for my outputs so that the first variable is always zero? (see below). Parameter Estimate Intercept 12.733534 [Sex=0] 0(a) [Sex=1] .592242 Regards, Paola "Ours has become a time-poor society, fatigued by non-physical demands and trying to compartmentalize daily living tasks. It is small wonder that physical activity is discarded in this environment" p126 (Steinbeck, 2001) P Please consider the environment before printing this email. ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. In SEM, the errors are considered latent variables. AMOS software used either ellipse or circle to represent a latent variable. What is the implication of correlated error terms?

That would depend on which errors are correlated. If they are
disturbance terms (a more correct term than error) between indicators for a latent variable then they imply something more complicated in your measures that a simple latent variable. On the other hand, correlation between disturbance terms for endogenous latents are less likely to be questioned. Paul R.
