patterns of service utilization

Maguin, Eugene
I'd like some help locating recent work on identifying patterns of service
utilization (although I'll bet the same methodology is relevant in other
areas such as marketing) and identifying searchable terms for the same. By
patterns, I mean clusters or latent classes of people who share a similar
pattern of services used over a fixed period of time. To better focus the
discussion, the dataset would have data on the use of any of three services.
Each service record would have an ID, service type and service entry date.
At any particular point in time, a person may be receiving none, any one, or
all three of the services.

So, searchable terms  or citations, methodology suggestions.

Thanks, Gene Maguin
