My employer is rolling out new machines and a new operating
system. Prior to the rollout, all current applications need to be tested.
I’ve been tasked with testing SPSS, including the Python and R plugins.
To test the R plugin, I need to download
Essentials_for_R_Installation_19_Win.zip and SPSS_Statistics_Ressentials_19002win32.exe
from IBM. I keep getting a connection error. The error message I get is: “Connection
Refused. If a proxy server is needed to connect it can by set by pressing the
setup button.” I&IT have tried various things at this end (we’ve
had the same message on 3 machines, so it’s not machine specific) without
resolving the problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Any possible solutions?
Alternatively, if someone can send me (off list) the
installation instructions and the .exe file, I would appreciate it. I’m
under a bit of a time crunch as we’re testing on a machine with a 14 day
trial license which expires either today or tomorrow, so I need to get R installed
ASAP so that I can run the test before the license expires.
