quickly inputting data..possible in this situation?

I have a sample size of 500 and they are identified numerically 1 to 500.
Is there a way for me to quickly input ID numbers 1-500 without having to
manually input each number on each successive row. Hope that is clear.

COMPUTE id=$casenum.

(Using the point&click: TRANSFORM -> COMPUTE VARIABLE...).
