Can I install more than one version of SPSS on my machine? Is there a special way to do it? Thanks.

Sure, just don't install them in the same directory. Details from SPSS
Tech Support Site: *Resolution number*: 33167 *Created on:* Jun 24 2003 *Last Reviewed on:* Mar 6 2006 *Resolution Subject*: Each separate version of SPSS must be installed into a different directory (preferably beneath the C:\Program Files\ directory). *Resolution Description*: Each separate version of SPSS must be installed into a different directory (preferably beneath the C:\Program Files\ directory). Version numbers are defined by the first decimal place. Thus, 11.0.1 and 11.5 are regarded as difference versions (11.0 vs. 11.5), whereas 13.0 and 13.0.1 are regarded as the same version. The multiple versions prevent conflict among themselves by only allowing one primary version to be present in the Windows registry at any one time. Multiple versions can be installed on the machine, but only one version can be primary. The primary version is the version that was most recently launched. Each time a version of SPSS for Windows is launched, it writes to the Windows registry to make itself the primary version. This distinction is important for interpreting file types. Should you double-click on an SPSS file (.sav data or .spo output), Windows must know which application version is associated with that file type (and launch that version). Windows will launch the most-recently used version of SPSS (not necessarily the newest version of SPSS for Windows). SPSS for Windows versions 10.0 and later will allow you to launch multiple simultaneous sessions. Because of the version-primacy issue described above, we recommend that if you must have simultaneous sessions of SPSS open from different versions be sure to open files from within each session (i.e., File->Open->...) instead of by double-clicking on the files themselves. Beginning with SPSS 14, you may open multiple datafiles in multiple Data Editor windows within a single session.
