scroll in v20 with trackpoint

Jara Kampmann
Dear List,

did any one of you encounter this problem? and might have a solution?:

I use SPSS v20 on a Lenovo Thinkpad which works with a so called trackpoint (instead of a touchpad or mouse). The trackpoint allows not only for steering the courser, left and right "mouse-buttons", but also for scrolling. That works great in all programs, but SPSS. No matter whether in the syntax-editor, output or data view I always have to use the scrolling bars at the right and the bottom.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Best,

Jara

Re: scroll in v20 with TrackPoint

If the TrackPoint actually does what the scroll button does on a mouse, perhaps the window you want to scroll doesn’t have focus—what happens if you click in it first. I also recall numerous problems in which I could scroll down with my mouse’s scroll button but not back up using  a specific Microsoft mouse and that turned out to be a Java “feature” due to the high resolution of the mouse. That problem appears to have been solved circa release 17 or so.
