Hi,
How does one do this in SPSS 16?
From the SPSS support website, it says below:
Problem Subject: Guttman Lingoes Smallest Space Analysis
Problem Description: I would like to do a Guttman Lingoes Smallest Space
Analysis (SSA), which is a multidimensional scaling (MDS) technique. Does
SPSS offer SSA?
Resolution Subject: Smallest Space Analysis is available in the PREFSCAL
procedure of Categories module
Resolution Description:
The Guttman-Lingoes technique, Smallest Space Analysis (SSA),can be
performed in the PREFSCAL procedure, which was introduced to the Categories
module in SPSS 14. SSA is not available in the multidimensional scaling
routines ALSCAL (Base module) or PROXSCAL (Categories module), so SSA was
not available in SPSS versions prior to Release 14.
End of Resolution
The PREFSCAL procedure is under Analyse Scale Multidimensional Unfolding
and I am stuck now as to how exactly to do Smallest Space Analysis.
Thanks,
Paul
