std deviations and SPSS 17

dtaylor_elca
When I plot a histogram with a normal curve using the 1991 GSS data, SPSS17 calculates two std deviations instead of three.  However, when using SPSS19, the normal curve plots out three std deviations.  Is a fix available for 17?

Syntax used:
DATASET ACTIVATE DataSet2.
FREQUENCIES VARIABLES=educ
  /HISTOGRAM NORMAL
  /ORDER=ANALYSIS.

Thanks,
Dann

Please clarify what you mean about calculating two versus three standard deviations--I don't know what that means.  Are you saying that the normal curve that gets superimposed is different in versions 17 and 19?
