[SPSSX-L] How
to make tables for submission to journals

I created tables using the custom tables module and
tablelooks. I then
met with my mentor and he had several suggestions for my tables but I
can't figure out how to do in custom tables what he suggests.
Also, I'd like to know what software/methods other than custom tables
people are using for manuscripts to be submitted to a journals?
Specific questions:
1. Can one export custom or not custom tables as LaTex?
>>>There is no built-in support for LaTex
(this has come up several times recently), but you can export a table as
html, and there are several html to LaTex converters that you can find
with a little Googling. I don't have any experience with these, but
they seem to be easy to try.
2. Is there a way to have the significant results bolded?
3. Can I include p-values in a custom tables.
>>>Not if you mean the actual significance
levels. You can, however, have the means and proportion test results
included in the main table. APA-style markers can be specified via
Ctables syntax (V18, I think, and later). To merge the separate table
of test results, which has quite a different layout, you would need to
use the SPSSINC MERGE TABLES extension command or an equivalent script.
As for bolding, I'm not sure what you would bold, but if you can
define it, it could be done with the SPSSINC MODIFY TABLES extension command
plus a custom script snippet.
