Hmmm, this is strange behavior and you should probably contact tech support
so they can figure out what's going on in a remote session. The FREQUENCIES
command is extremely fast and 3000 records is trivial. Does this occur with
other procedures or just FREQUENCIES. What is your exact syntax?

i7 2.1ghz
4gb ram
640 hd
Windows 7 Pro

SPSS Statistics V19.0

Running a frequency on two variables creates gradually more than 30
instances of stat.exe in the task mananger slowing the computer completely
down.

Can someone explain why this is happening and why does SPSS uses so much of
the computers memory in general and how to prevent this from happening.
