Vista is not allowing you to write to the default directory (extensions under the Statistics installation).
To get around this, you need to define environment variables that point to locations where you have write permissions.
For example, here are my settings
SPSS_CDIALOGS_PATH=C:/dlgcommon
SPSS_EXTENSIONS_PATH=c:/extcommon;c:/extcommon18

Statistics will then look in these locations and then the standard place.

You set environment variables via the Control Panel>System>Advanced>Environment Variables
Exact path varies some with the OS.

windows Vista SPSS 20.0.0

after upgrading to SPSS 20 I tried to install STATS_DISTFIT again.

R and Python are installed, as usual. However, trying to install
STATS_DISTFIT leads to the error message:

cannot install extention bundle to any of the specified locations
D: ...
C: ...

can't remember the solution (Vista Problem?)
