Javascript MV not loaded/Legacy Viewer

1:  When I open SPSS or more usually double click on an existing *.sav file, I get a message, “Cannot open Javascript MV” or whatever, but SPSS opens anyway.  Not a problem, but intriguing.

 

2:  I regularly receive SPSS files from users needing advice or assistance.  Sometimes these require the Legacy Viewer, but when I tried to download it today to view a *.sav file I got “Internet cannot display the page.” so I can’t inspect the *.sav file.   Any suggestions?
