complex samples module

Dear experts,

I have a question with regard to sub-population command under complex samples module.  

Can the number of valid unweighted cases exceed the number of specified subpopulation?

My subpopulation has 479 cases but the # of valid cases (unweighted) ranges from about 400 to over a thousand according to the summary table, which I don't understand. Can anyone help me figure out how it is possible and what I should do to solve the problem?
