It seems like you are saying that you do not know how to use the variable view tab to set up the column (variable) names. I don't mean to be insulting but have you looked the documentation in the help system. If that is not what you're asking about then you've given a really bad explanation of the problem. GeneMaguin

Hi I am really new to spss and need to get up to speed for a research projects later in the year.
I can get some of the basics but cant find how to enter the following
On a scale of 1-15 if the score is say 9 I enter that in the data view.
what I cna get is how to enter or set this up the variable view.
The reason being is that I need to use say 25 clients who are rated on this measurem,ent with a range of scores between 1-15.
I hope someone can help
