Scott,

I don't understand the problem.  If you are MATCHing files-you want values to appear int he new variables that you add to the original file.  

Please provide syntax and perhaps examples ...

When I run the Merge Files procedure it appears to be running the procedure and the variables do appear in the "new" data file.
