I recently had a blog post showing how to use the layout.tree network layout. See Network Xmax Tree in SPSS



How is the data returned after the clustering? To make the edge lists from more usual data formats I typically use VARSTOCASES in some hacky ways (see http://andrewpwheeler.wordpress.com/2013/06/30/making-an-edge-list-in-spss/ and http://andrewpwheeler.wordpress.com/2014/01/09/quick-spss-tip-suppressing-output/ for some examples).
