In the syntax window type "discriminant." Place your cursor on that text and key <f1> (aka <help>).

See the specifications for the classification phase.


create a new variable which is identical to your grouping variable.
create an additional value label for that new variable which says "ungrouped"

Do you want to consider 40 % of each original group as ungrouped or do you want to consider 40% of all cases as ungrouped.


transform the new variable so that the cases you want to be ungrouped have the appropriate value and value label.
