Question on non-integer weights

Hello,

I'm trying to run control charts with weighted data, and received an error message stating that cases with non-integer weights will be excluded from the procedure.  I've done a Google search, and haven't found recent information about this (the latest was from 2007).

Does anybody know of good reference for this?

I'm running SPSS 22, release 22.0.0.0, 32-bit, on Windows 7.
