Let me also reiterate some advice ViAnn gave earlier in the thread:  If one
includes all variables in the model on a DESCRIPTIVES command, the Valid N
(listwise) result at the bottom of the table will show how many observations
will be included in the regression model.  As Jon noted, there is no need to
compute a mean across variables.
