v14 problem importing csv files?

I am working with large files. On original media, files are compressed and
in csv format.

I am opening with pkzipc, then importing into SPSS. I am getting breaks in
the middle of some lines, which incorrectly create a second line.

A colleague of mine also tried this. His import works fine, without any
incorrect breaks. The only difference we can identify is that he is
running v15 and I am running v14.

Is there a known problem with v14 importing large csv files?
