version 19, editing legacy charts

Barbara Gregson
Dear All

I have a small section of syntax written to produce a funnel plot in order to examine differences in mortality rates etc between centres in our international study in order to monitor sites.

After producing the plots using the legacy chart facility I then go into the charts and edit them. The plots are scattergrams of three paired values: the observed mortality rate at the site by number of patients at the site, upper CI by number of patients and lower CI by number of patients. I then edit by selecting the upper CI points and adding an interpolation line and do the same for the lower CI points.

This syntax worked fine under version 17 but does not work in version 19. The points are plotted fine but when I come to edit - I select the upper CI points and request the interpolation line but instead of just inserting the line through the upper CI points it inserts three lines one through each set of points including the observed values which are scattered and therefore it is a meaningless zig zag.  I have then tried editing this line to make it colourless but it is not possible to make any changes to an individual line.

Any suggestions please? Is this a known problem? Or is there a fix?

My Department have moved everybody else over to version 19 and are unhappy that they have had to put 17 back on my machine.

Barbara

Re: version 19, editing legacy charts

Barbara Gregson
I sent this email last week and have received no response - Is there anyone who can help with this problem with version 19 where it is no longer possible to add separate interpolation lines?

Many thanks

Barbara

1st click on a point selects/activates all the points, 2nd click selects/activates only one group of points & deselects other groups...then you can manipulate points and lines.

Re: version 19, editing legacy charts

Barbara Gregson
Thanks for your response Max.

I agree that is what should happen but unfortunately it doesn't work.  I have had an off group exchange of emails with Jon Peck and he has now confirmed that there is a bug in Version 19 and also in version 20.  He has reported it.

I am also grateful to Jon for showing me how to work round it by using Chart Builder.
