Hello everyone,
I'm Kheper. First, please excuse any violations in listserve protocol as this is the first time I've ever used a listserve . Protocol guidance is welcome. I have a data file that contains 4 variables that indicate frequency of consumption. The four variables are french fries, chips, soda and candy. Each variable is coded 0= 0 times per week , 1=1-2 times per week, 3= 3-4 times per week, and 4=5+ times per week. I'm trying to create a single bar chart that contains the frequency distribution for consumption for each of the 4 variables. How do I do this in SPSS version 18. I can create a bar chart that has the mean of all four variables, but I want the frequency distribution instead. Any assistance would be most appreciated. If additional clarity is needed, please let me know. Thanks Kheper. |
How many bars are in this chart? Describe what you want to see on the x-axis. From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Kheper Hello everyone, |

Try something like: graph /BAR (GROUPED) = PCT BY <how often> BY <foodstuff>. . . . in which you insert your own text for the bits in <chevrons>. If you use the GUI the syntax produced is absolutely horrendous. John F Hall From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Kheper Hello everyone, |
