Binary logistic regression taking account clustering

kende jan
Hello

I would like to perform with PASW 17, a binary logistic regression analysis taking account clustering
(A randomized trial into 2 groups, patients within 50 hospitals):
y (0,1)  is the outcome
x1, x2 indivifduals
 characteristics
x3,x4 hospitals characteristics.

Thanks in advance

Jan

SPSS does not currently have a procedure for multilevel logistic regression.  What other software do you have access to?

see if "hypothesis testing" under COMPLEX SAMPLING does what you want.

Note that while v17 does not have a procedure that models clustered binary data with random effects, the GENLIN procedure can fit generalized estimating equations and could be used to handle clustered binary data.  This won't help if you are after subject-specific results, but should be sufficient if you just want to account for correlations among observations.
