Can SPSS Mixed Models handle logistic regression?

Eric Johnson-16
Does anyone know if it is possible to fit multinomial logistic
models using SPSS's mixed models?  I am using SPSS version 11.0.4
for the Mac.  If not, is there an alternative within SPSS or by
upgrading to a newer version?

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,

As of version 15, SPSS Mixed Models cannot handle multinomial logistic models.  Hopefully, this area will be addressed in future releases.  In the meantime, the HLM package from SSI can handle multinomial logistic models.

Regards,

Steve

Scott,

There is in the spss windows version a multinomial logit regression proc,
Nomreg, and has been since 10. If you don't have repeated measures or a
multilevel structure, I'm not sure why Nomreg won't do what you want.
Whether it's in the mac version, I have no idea.
