All of the Statistics documentation is now online at
https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27021213
(This url is bookmarked on the SPSS Community site)
Look for the Categories option.

Note that the Statistics 20 help system is also online: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/index.jsp

The GUI, Syntax, and Case Studies doc for CATREG are, respectively, at:
* http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/topic/com.ibm.spss.statistics.help/idh_catr.htm

CRT, CHAID

Tóth Brigitta
In reply to this post by Jon K Peck
Dear All,

Could you please suggest me a book about the decision trees of SPSS (mainly on CRT and CHAID) in which also the computation is explained (for example how the importance of the independent variable is calculated)?

Thank you,

Kind greetings,

Brigitta Toth

Re: CRT, CHAID

Hi Brigitta,

The algorithms should all be in the help system; the variable importance for CART, for example, is at: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/topic/com.ibm.spss.statistics.help/alg_tree-cart_variable-importance.htm
