Note that the Statistics 20 help system
is also online: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/index.jsp
The GUI, Syntax, and Case Studies doc for CATREG are, respectively, at: * http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/topic/com.ibm.spss.statistics.help/idh_catr.htm * http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/topic/com.ibm.spss.statistics.help/syn_catreg.htm * http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/topic/com.ibm.spss.statistics.cs/catreg_table.htm Alex From: Bruce Weaver <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Date: 09/26/2011 09:29 AM Subject: Re: Categorical regression Sent by: "SPSSX(r) Discussion" <[hidden email]> Have you Googled on <SPSS CATREG>? Dear All,
Could you please suggest me a book about the decision trees of SPSS (mainly on CRT and CHAID) in which also the computation is explained (for example how the importance of the independent variable is calculated)?
Thank you,
Kind greetings,
Brigitta Toth

Hi Brigitta,
The algorithms should all be in the help system; the variable importance for CART, for example, is at: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/spssstat/v20r0m0/topic/com.ibm.spss.statistics.help/alg_tree-cart_variable-importance.htm Alex From: Tóth Brigitta <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Date: 09/26/2011 10:36 AM Subject: CRT, CHAID Sent by: "SPSSX(r) Discussion" <[hidden email]> Dear All, Could you please suggest me a book about the decision trees of SPSS (mainly on CRT and CHAID) in which also the computation is explained (for example how the importance of the independent variable is calculated)?
