Could not start Java virtual machine. Chart will not be drawn. Solution for release version "18.0.1" ?

To whom it may concern,

I am running PASW 18 on a macbook pro. When I ask it to plot I get the following message in my output file "Could not start Java virtual machine. Chart will not be drawn."
I found a solution on the SPSSX discussion forum under the "Resolution number 91842" but this seems to work only for SPSS 18.0.3.? Is there any patch to fix the problem for the release version 18.0.1

I had the same problem, you need to download 18.0.3, see https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21488075 (use spguest as login and password).

I am having the same problem. The link that was posted in the last message could not be found. The Username and Password of spguest was not accepted. When I go to get a fix, only fixes for version 19.0 and above are available. I have SPSS version 18.0. I know I need to upgrade to version 18.0.3.4 first and then use a hotfix, but how? Please help. Thank you!
