Format variables

Eugenio Grant
Hi Listserv:

Where can I fin the meaning of letters used to format a variable:

For example (F1) (3A1) (8F1) etc.

I know the meaning of the most used letters, but I would like to be able to
know all the possibilities that I can have.

Thanks!!!

Hello,

The answer is in SPSS syntax reference.

Maybe u have the paper manual. If not there should be a pdf file on your SPSS install CD, describing all the SPSS commands.
As for the version I have (SPSS v12) it is on the page 593, chapter FORMATS.
