Formatting (repost)

I cannot find the syntax to set the whole program to a particular numeric
format.  I also want to be able to change the format for numbers in the
middle of a program for a particular set of calculations.  Creating
NUMERIC (F2.2), for example, at the beginning of the program is not
desirable because of the large number of variables involved.

It appears that this will work without brackets and substituting your
desired format.

SET FORMAT={F8.2}.

You can set a default format for new variables in Edit/Options.  This will not apply to existing variables that already have acquired a format, but it works for new ones.
