All,
I'd like to build a list of general purpose statistical software sold in the US or Europe. (To spss: this question is completely unrelated to any software changes at SUNY.) I'm not so much interested in specialized software like lisrel, mplus, eqs, mx, hlm, mlwin, etc. My list thus far would have Spss, sas, stata, systat, r, s (probably). Others? Thanks, Gene Maguin ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. Hi Gene,
Statistica and Minitab. Is Mathematica relevant - I've never used that? Hi Gene,
A colleague mentioned Genstat. http://www.vsni.co.uk/software/genstat/ Cheers Michelle -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Gene Maguin Sent: Wednesday, 11 May 2011 8:14 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: General purpose statistical software---Please reply off-list to me directly All, I'd like to build a list of general purpose statistical software sold in the US or Europe. A while back I asked for help to build a list of general purpose statistical
software available in North America and Europe. In addition to SPSS, others suggested SAS, Systat, Stata, WINKS, Genstat, BMDP, DataDesk, NCSS, R, JMP, Statistica, and Minitab. Thanks to all who replied. Gene Maguin ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. How about MATLAB and/or open source alternatives such as Octave.
Not specifically statictics software, but it does support a considerable amount of statistical functionality and unlike these others it is *FREE*. ---
Please reply to the list and not to my personal email.
